***READ BEFORE RENTING HERE *** I have been living in this apartment complex for 5 years, and every year there is a new manager. Horrible people! I forgot to renew my lease, and they didn't even bother to remind me. Instead, they waited for me to forget and kicked me out. I found out because they offered the same apartment to my sister. LOL! They wanted to evict me because I had many things grandfathered in, such as an outside closet for free. I found out they were charging $100 for it now. I also had two parking spots for $50 each, but they increased the price to $75 to $100 each. Moreover, my three-bedroom apartment, which used to cost $2200, is now being charged over $2500. It seems like they were losing money. They never came to fix anything in the house. I had a broken stove and a broken fridge for three years. The AC constantly breaks down. When they built this apartment, they didn't do a very good job with insulation or soundproofing the walls. As a result, you can hear everything from the outside, and it's really annoying. You can hear cars, motorcycles, bikes, scooters, and even people talking. The parking lots are not safe at all. Things are always being stolen from cars and doors. The garage door is always broken, so most of the time, the doors are open, and your car is not safe in there. Also, don't even think about leaving a bike or any valuable items on the outside patios because they will be stolen. I've always lost packages from Amazon. The management does nothing about it. The Trax station is right around the corner, but that's not a good thing. There are always creeps, bums, and people smoking marijuana in the area. The towing company even removed my car from my parking spot inside the garage for no reason. There are always noise complaints because you can hear everything from other apartments. I'm telling you, this place is really annoying. Think twice before moving here because it's a nightmare. Don't expect to get any support from the management; they don't care about people, specially Bea. She is super rude. Please see the attached pictures to see the condition I left the apartment in. Despite this, they want to charge me $250 when my deposit was $1400, which I never got back. 🤷🏻

I love my new apartment here. The quality of the apartment is very good - the bathrooms are nice, the kitchen is nice, everything is in good working order, the carpet is nice, the floors are nice. The property managers are very pleasant and helpful. The maintenance requests are handled promptly and the technicians are polite. I love the location - it is very clean, safe, modern, urban. The surrounding apartment complexes are also nice, so that they whole neighborhood has a clean, modern urban look. I chose this place because it looks more clean and urban - not like a sprawling apartment complex with cookie-cutter buildings. The one surprise I would mention is that it is noisy here. You can hear the trains and the buses that come up to the station. The station is right above us. I am very happy with everything. This is a very well-run facility. They do a good job selecting quality tenants.

This apartment has gone downhill. First: like other comments have stated, there is dog waste everywhere. Every step you take, dog waste. People even track it inside to the elevators. It’s horrible and disgusting. Dog hair everywhere too. People don’t seem to care for their animals nor respect their neighbors here. Not all of us want to walk around or on dog waste. Dogs on our floor also bark for hours while their owners are gone. The dog situation is truly out of hand. It’s not fair for those who do not wish to live in an environment like that. Next, again like other commenters, neighbors are loud, music playing until 3am. Loud stomping. Vacuuming at all hours of the night. Screaming and arguing. Babies crying. Saw a couple having a domestic dispute, one was outside, the other one shouting out their first floor window. One can say, “oh it’s apartment living,” but not, it’s next level rude and disrespectful and for all that this place charges you, I don’t think we should have put up with this. We have the privilege too, of our neighbors smoking all day long. They do it in their bathroom, and it makes its way into our bathroom. Both cigarette smells and “420”smells. Thinking candles and air freshener would be enough to mask the smell, it’s not and now our home smells like we too smoke. The upkeep of the building has just gone down. It’s dirty. Housekeeping maybe cleans our elevator once a week. But it’s not a thorough job. Just like a quick dunk of a mop into pine sol and smearing the mop along the floor. Our floor (carpet) on our level hasn’t been vacuumed in months. Our windows to our apartment are so dirty. We have large windows, yet they’re so dirty on the outside, they’re all cloudy and have bird waste, makes having those types of windows pointless. I wish the building would pay for window cleaners but doesn’t seem like they care. The amount of trash near the trash cans is really disgusting. People will overflow it until it’s spilling out. Dog waste bags, rotten meat, and large furniture falling out of the dumpster, all await you when you take out your trash. Speaking of caring, like another commenter, if you want to contact them be sure to call the prospective resident number otherwise you’re not talking to anyone. They're always closed. And they can't even make the monthly calendar for the elevator. When they do, it's blurring, can't read what it says, and it's like halfway through the month. Like maybe they need to hire someone else if they can't even make a basic calendar. Parking is bad. No places to park after about 7:30pm. It’s even more frustrating when it’s clearly not residents of the building. And I just love how management only respond to the 5 star reviews. Really shows how they’d rather just keep pretending their building is awesome and respond to those, rather than really addressing concerns and making improvements. because at one time, this building was great, it was clean, neighbors were neighborly enough, management was effective and timely, but with time all the went and were left with one big pile of dog waste. That is Hills at Sandy Station - the slum lord apartments. Overall, this building now sucks. I would avoid this place and check out other nearby apartments.

I loved living here until I didn’t. We have been here for about 3 years now. Unfortunately, we will be leaving. We got new neighbors about a year ago who blast their music anytime during the night and day to the point I can hear it in our bedroom including running their washer and dryer after hours vibrating our apt. We have complained to the office multiple of times, called security and nothing gets changed. When we complained prior, we received an email saying we needed to call security. (Which we have done multiple of times btw). They don’t do anything to fix issues. We have become exhausted to even say anything anymore. I will feel bad for whoever moves in this apt after us because they are going to be dealing with awful neighbors and the staff does nothing to help make it stop. I’m pretty certain the neighbors get away with it because she works for the apartment complex. No one picks up after their dogs. It’s a literal dog bomb out in the grassy areas so watch where you step. They send threatening emails but nothing gets fixed just like our noisy neighbors. The best part about the apartments has been maintenance, they have been super kind and helpful when stuff gets broken. Pretty much the only highlight being here.

I have lived here at Hills for almost two years and I love it here. The location is amazing and so close to everything! I love and appreciate how Rocio and her team go above and beyond to make this a wonderful place to live! I love how well kept the grounds and common areas are, makes it very enjoyable to spend time outside. Any issues I’ve had are handled promptly and immediately! Rocio knows I have severe anxiety and she never makes me feel bad about it, she’s very kind, compassionate, and understanding! I love how the staff here truly makes me feel at home. Maintenance is incredible, they are very prompt, friendly, and efficient! I highly recommend Hills if you’re looking for a warm, cozy, safe, at home type of living. Thank you Rocio and your team for all you do!

I love my apartment. Been living here for at least a year now. The neighbors, in my experience, are very kind and respectful. Really peaceful and calm area. Not perfect (nothing's ever perfect) but definitely the best renting experience I've had so far.

I have mixed reviews on this place. The actual units are nice and kept up well. The price is also very competitive for today's rental market. Unfortunately I feel like parking is the biggest fall. Every tenant should be entitled to at least …

In my experience, they let their phone ring if you select the current resident line, and they will never call you back. If you dial the prospective resident line, they'll answer the phone. Tells you all you need to know. …
